What to do

This project favours the partiality the three artists have in common for objects which are considered as poor or trivial and is organised around basic gestures : the removal, collection and assembling of makeshift or ordinary objects, the use of tools and rudimentary techniques which originate from odd-job or handmade methods. Emphasis will be placed on the fact that processes of deconstruction of painting initiated by artists in the mid-sixties and extended by their work on objects can be compared to the attitude of the character Robinson Crusoe, as presented by Michel Tournier in "Friday, or, The Other Island" (1967).
