Claude Debussy - Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun - Camille Saint-Saëns - Cello Concerto No. 1 in A minor, Opus 33 - Sergei Rachmaninov - Symphony No. 2 in E minor, Op. 27 - Cello Edgar Moreau - Music direction Lionel Bringuier.
Born in Nice in 1986, Lionel Bringuier began studying the cello at the age of five and gave his first recital four years later. Today, the young conductor, rising star of the international panorama, has already won several prizes and nominations, including those of 2012, as Principal Conductor and Music Director of the Tonhalle Orchestra of Zürich. On the stage of his hometown, he will lead cellist prodigy Edgar Moreau in the 1st Cello Concerto in Saint-Saëns. A concerto without introduction to the orchestra, contrary to custom. The solo instrument breaks in with a whirlwind theme that the orchestra takes up on its own account. To this virtuosic work is added the most ambitious of the orchestral pages of Serguei Rachmaninov, the Symphony n.2.
