Music Director György G. Ráth - On the occasion of the bicentenary of the birth of Charles Gounod.
Charles Gounod: Concerto for pedal piano and orchestra
Dmitry Shostakovich: Symphony No. 7 in C major, Op. 60, Leningrad
Piano Roberto Prosseda - Conductor Oleg Caetani
The Orchestra returns to the stage of the Apollon auditorium for an exceptional program. This is indeed the opportunity to celebrate the bicentennial of Charles Gounod and discover, with the Piano Concerto, an instrument today forgotten but which seduced important composers at the end of the 19th century, in the image Franz Liszt, Robert Schumann or Camille Saint-Saëns. It will also hear the Symphony No. 7, Leningrad, monumental masterpiece of the Russian symphonic repertoire, born in 1941 under the pen of a Dmitri Shostakovich who has now found his style and whose conductor with an international career, Oleg Caetani, is a connoisseur.
