Description:

One evening in 1897. The All-Paris crowd is at the Porte Saint-Martin to attend the premiere of Cyrano de Bergerac. A hundred actors interpret the play of the young Edmond Rostand. It is a triumph. The golden age of the Parisian theater is reborn in the jubilant comedy imagined by Alexis Michalik. After his two previous successes, the director rises with panache a "making of" on the creation of the legendary play. The tormented playwright of the nineteenth century crosses the road of colorful characters: hostile producers and critics, forced to bow to his success, stars of the time such as Feydeau, Ravel, Chekhov or the dazzling Sarah Bernhardt. Crazy stories follow each other like magic, twirling and amusing. Twelve virtuoso actors play in unison the thirty roles of this popular fresco of irresistible inventiveness and youth, in which the mythical tirades of Cyrano burst forth.
