PEER GYNT

From 12 January 2018 To 13 January 2018
THÉÂTRE NATIONAL DE NICE
According to Henrik Ibsen : Sam Shepard's poems, songs by Iggy Pop, adaptation and staging by Irina Brook. The contemporary and rock'n'roll version of this delusional adventure takes us deep inside ourselves.
peer-gynt

Description:

The return of the cult hit! Peer Gynt returns to enchant the public Nice for two exceptional evenings. The epic of a young man ready to destroy everything in his quest for glory takes on the character of a rock'n'roll fairy tale. Irina Brook propels Ibsen's work into a contemporary world, mixing cultures, myths and genres. Sam Shepard translates Ibsen's poetry. Iggy Pop signs two original songs and inspires the transformation of the antihero into a crazy rocker. An international company with multiple talents creates all the universes that Peer traverses, from the small village of his childhood to a downtown New York, passing through the decadent kingdom of Trolls ... Icelandic theater and film star Ingvar Sigurdsson electrifies the public with the sublime Indian dancer Shantala Shivalingappa as Solveig, an eternal lover. The great Lebanese actress Mireille Maalouf plays a both hilarious and tragic mother.
