An exhibition on the abbey of Saint-Pons, one of the oldest monasteries of the Côte d'Azur installed high on the right bank of the Paillon, north-east of Nice.
"Regards sur Saint-Pons" proposes to return to one of the most beautiful baroque churches of Nice classified since 1913 as historical monuments through the eyes of artists and anonymous nineteenth and twentieth centuries: Clement Roassal, Urban Garin de Cocconato, Jean Gilletta ... Visitors will appreciate the many watercolors, prints, lithographs, engravings, drawings and photographs from the collections of the Library of the Knight of Cessole of the City of Nice.
The abbey church Saint-Pons is closed to the public since 1999. Threatened with degradation, it is today the subject of a general restoration program by the City of Nice to highlight the richness of its history and of its architecture inspired by Turin. It is within the framework of the exhibition "Extases" in 2016 that the City of Nice has launched a first call for donations for the restoration of the abbey church Saint-Pons. The official signing of an agreement between the City of Nice and the Heritage Foundation on January 16, 2017 formalized this call for donations. With the support of the Heritage Foundation, the City of Nice calls for the generosity of everyone: economic actors, but also citizens, from here and elsewhere, lovers of Nice, to support this project and participate in the promotion of the city
