In Italian, "gli sfridi" indicates the work residues of material, for example wood chips or fabric scraps.
In this project we have imagined human "remnants" excluded from society.
Our basis of work was a text by Maurice Maeterlinck, "The Blind". Blind people live on an inaccessible and almost uninhabited island. Their main landmark is the hospice where they live. Led by the priest in a long walk in the forest, he dies and they are confronted with a threatening environment.
The aim is to extend Maeterlinck's text to the actors' propositions, to imagine the stories of "remnants", of those who find refuge in isolation, far from any social hypocrisy.
But the questions that arise are many. Is evasion a solution? What are we taking in our exile?
