Born in Cordoba, Argentina, in 1974, Irene Kopelman lives between Argentina and Amsterdam.
Fascinated by the cabinets of curiosity, and representations of landscapes by naturalists in the 18th and 19th centuries, she questions this period of exploration and construction of knowledge, identification of natural phenomena. Echoing the thematic exhibition Cosmogonies presented at MAMAC, which deploys different generations of artists summoning the elements and introducing natural factors in their creation, Irene Kopelman will invest the contemporary gallery of the museum with a proposal with a fragmentary aesthetic, offering a poetic look at our environment.
