Caterina visited the temporary exhibition « Matisse & Picasso, la comédie du modèle » at the Matisse Museum in Nice.
I had the opportunity to visit this exhibition as part of my job, accompanied by my two colleagues from the press service of the OTCN.
We went there in autobleue (electric car-sharing vehicle). Fast, simple and effective, from booking to restitution: it couldn't be easier ...
At the Matisse Museum
We opted for a guided tour and did not regret it! Passionate and enthusiastic, our guide immersed us in the world of these two great artists of the 20th century. We discovered their way of working, their quest for refinement and the search for their own singularity. Matisse and Picasso came together from the 1940s in Nice and its surroundings. In this inspiring Mediterranean environment, the rich exchanges of these two artists have been sources of artistic dialogue and rivalry.
On 500 m2, paintings, sculptures, drawings but also photographs comparing artists in their respective workshops, perfectly illustrate their unique relationship with their models and their muses.
All these aspects guide our visit for a very accessible experience, where emotion, humor and tension are palpable.
In short, an exhibition to discover absolutely! I strongly advise it.
Note: You can also, instead of opting for a guided tour, download the audioguide application of the museum, available in (FR / EN / IT). Here again, fast enough, simple and effective ... If you are not keen on headphones, there is also the exhibition catalogue...
