From 12th October to 24th March 2019, the City of Nice invites you to discover the exceptional exhibition "Bernar Venet. The conceptual years 1966-1976 » at the MAMAC.
Bernar Venet began, in the 1960s, an unprecedented radicalization of artistic experience and aesthetic production. Rejected by the conventions of French art, fascinated by American formalism and, above all, Marcel Duchamp, he became, from 1970, one of the leaders of conceptual art.
The exhibition proposes for the first time to explore this insufficiently known period of his work, which began in Nice to find its deployment in the United States.
