The Matisse Museum presents a selection of over one hundred photographs by André Ostier (1906-1994).
Known for his fashion photography (Marie-Claire, Vogue), André Ostier has tirelessly photographed artists and produced from the greatest painters and sculptors of the twentieth century intimist and captivating portraits.
Chronicler of the painting of his time, Ostier met and photographed in their workshop Henri Matisse, Pierre Bonnard, Aristide Maillol, Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, Alexander Calder, Francis Bacon, David Hockney and many others that the exhibition will reveal to through vintage prints of the André Ostier collection, contact sheets, as well as an unprecedented series of prints signed by the models themselves.
