Ana Lara: Cuando caiga el silencio (French premiere, in collaboration with the MANCA festival) - Béla Bartok: Piano Concerto No. 3 - Gustav Mahler: Symphony No. 4 in G major.
With Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Piano - Musical Direction György G. Ráth.
Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, famous French pianist, is one of the few non-Hungarian musicians to know perfectly the particular musical language of Béla Bartók. Concerto No. 3 - one of his last works - was written by the composer in the United States, where he emigrated to flee fascism. Symphony No. 4, composed at the height of his success, is certainly the most serene work of Gustav Mahler. It radiates with transparent and delicate sounds and ends with the ethereal song of an angel.
