Nice holds a special place in the heart of the great composer, whose 150th anniversary this year is celebrated nationally.
Description:
This is probably his favorite city. He has stayed here three times, each time in special circumstances and for some incredible things. The project pays tribute to the composer and these three stays, places them in their historical context and revisits the local history (during the first two, Nice was not yet part of France). The week will be "Fantastic" with exhibitions, conferences, surprises ... It will conclude Friday, December 13 with a great evening punctuated by musical moments, cinematographic creations based on the writings of Berlioz in Nice and texts read by actors.
During the whole event, a public exhibition in the conservatory hall will be dedicated to Jacques Couvez's wind instruments from Berlioz's era, illustrated by some documents kept in the Conservatoire's library and by the presentation of an original autograph by Berlioz taken from the Guestbook of Marguerite Chambovet preserved at the Palais Lascaris.
