Tormented and excessive, Harpagon always tyrannizes his descendants in the famous play of Molière. His children, Elise and Cléante, are destined against their will to two beautiful old and wealthy parties while he plans to unite with the young Marianne whom Cléante is in love with.
In this new staging, the actors unfurl the text relying on artifices borrowed from the field of circus and dance. Metal structures and masks bring an extra dimension. The magic of metamorphoses and transformation accentuates the timeless and symbolic strength of the piece.
