A heritage to serve environment protection, rich in more than a million specimens (botanic, zoology and geology).
The permanent exhibit «Over Hill and Dale: Biodiversity of the Alpes Maritimes»
is presented as a walk through the incredible biodiversity of our region, already
known for the beauty of its landscapes. It is a rich but fragile natural treasure that
includes mammals (wolves, deer, wild boars, chamois, etc.); birds (predatory, wading,
passerine, etc.); and reptiles and insects. Closed on monday.
The museum, created in the middle of the 19th century, possesses a patrimony of immense richness, which enhances our knowledge of regional biodiversity: exhibitions, tours and various events disseminate this knowledge. A grand exhibition hall presents a fascinating world peopled with strange creatures, giant
squids, outsized jellyfish…
